I am selling a John Welsford Houdini. I bought the boat to take down the sea of Cortez this fall, but I made the dumb decision to start back in school to finish my masters. So I don’t think I will be doing any traveling for the next year or so, and its a shame to let such a great boat sit around. I’d rather sell it to someone who wants to use it regularly. I am not desperate to sell, its paid for and I have space to store, just want to pass it along. The boat was recently repainted with interlux and re varnished. I bought a proper bottom paint but have not put it on yet, but that will go with the boat. I also have some extra varnish and deck paint that will go. All of the hardware on this boat is bronze and in great shape. The boat has two dansforth anchors with around 150 feet of rode each, one anchor has chain and rope rode, the other is all rope. There is an anchor well in the front that can hold both anchors and rope. The boat will also come equiped with just about everything needed to get on the water. Three inflatable life jackets, day and night signaling devices, compass, lead line, extra screws and hardware. The only thing you would probably want to get this on the water is a radio. It will also come with the original plans and John Welsford book on boat building. I can leave some dry bags and water jugs as well. Mast and sails are in good shape and ready to use. The boat comes with the trailer, I have title for both. I am not the original builder but for pictures of the build process and to see how much care was put into making this boat, check out the build process pictures. https://www.flickr.com/photos/bills_houdini/with/6176487626/ I would be willing to work out shipping arrangements for long time active members of the wooden boat forums. Otherwise its cash and pickup. I can send more pictures upon request. The boat is located in Southern California.
