Maynard Lowery Open Catboat 1975, Atlantic Cedar On sawn Oak frames

Description:

Maynard Lowery open Catboat, 1975 build, 14′ 8″ LOA, 6′ 9″ beam, spruce spars in exceptional condition, hollow spruce mast, about 21′, weighs 45 pounds, Atlantic cedar on sawn oak frames, no repairs ever done to hull, shallow draft 18″ with centerboard up. Carefully sanded all old bottom paint, saturated hull and bilges with four coats of boiled linseed and Japan drier, let that cure for two months, then primed entire boat and painted with marine paint, caulking all intact, like new mainsail, app. 225 sq ft., three reef points. Boat is shown quickly mocked up to give an idea of condition, halyards, lazy jacks, topping lift are in as new condition.  I don’t have mainsheet line, all original wooden blocks are in good condition, not seen in photos, but I have them in original sail bag. Wooden hoops in great condition, non-skid deck paint on half deck, centerboard, rudder, and tiller in great condition. Boat and trailer come with current registrations and clear Ohio title. Trailer is road ready with good bearings and tires’, could use rollers but is good transport. This boat ideally would be good at a mooring.  It is ready to sail. You can’t go wrong with a Maynard Lowery Catboat. He was an iconic builder on the Eastern shore of Maryland who built many Chesapeake Bay Deadrises and mostly built Catboats the latter part of his life. His workmanship is the best. Boat is roomy and would make a great family sailer. Motor bracket is strong. It is hard to find a traditional Catboat built by an iconic builder in this condition. You may contact me at 251-622-7190 (cell) or home number 614-269-0917. Boat must be picked up in Columbus, Ohio. It is in storage and under a roof and ready to sail. Call me if you have any questions. Asking $7,800. Thanks.
