Piscataqua River Wherry

Description: 

16' 2″ x 3′ 10″ Piscataqua River Wherry built to the Mystic Seaport plans by Danforth. Hull was class built by The Commmunity School, South Tamworth NH under the guidance of boatbuilder and WoodenBoat school instructor, Geoffrey Burke. Hull is traditionally constructed of white pine planking with white oak ribs and grown tamarack knees for frames and copper and bronze fastenings. These boats were used on the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth, NH on one of the fastest tidal races in the world; they are exceptionally fast and able. Oars included. Asking $5,000.
