Sparkman & Stephens Fisher Pilot Sailboat

This 33-foot Sparkman & Stephens yacht was built in Detroit in 1947, shortly after WWII, when many shipyards transitioned from constructing vessels for the U.S. Navy to crafting high-quality pleasure boats. Shamrock is one of the earliest examples of the S&S "Pilot" — the very first S&S design of the post-war era. She combines classic lines with exceptional sailing characteristics and remarkably solid construction. In many ways she is arguably overbuilt — in the best possible sense. Sparkman & Stephens designs have been celebrated worldwide and used by legendary builders such as Nautor Swan, Hinckley, Tartan, Morris, Catalina, and Grand Banks, and have powered multiple America's Cup–winning yachts as well as ocean-crossing campaigns in the Fastnet and Whitbread races. She is turnkey and ready to sail, featuring a brand-new engine and more than $9,500 in modern nautical electronics already installed. Photos and video of both her exterior and interior are available. Her owner simply doesn't sail her enough, and she deserves to be back on the water where she can be fully appreciated. More photos available upon request. Their work has shaped the boats of Nautor's Swan, Hinckley, Tartan, Morris, Catalina, and Grand Banks, and their designs have a long record of success in ocean racing and distance cruising, including America's Cup campaigns and races such as the Fastnet and Whitbread. Shamrock, as S&S Design #539, holds a particular place in that history: she was the firm's first design commissioned after World War II, launching what would become the long-running "Pilot" line of cruising sloops — a lineage that eventually led to the well-known Hinckley Pilot 35 in 1962.
