Mark your calendars for the 38th Annual Finger Lakes Chapter (FLC) Antique and Classic Boat Show weekend July 29-31, 2016. The event has grown from a dozen boats in 1978 to well over 90.
For the past 21 years the boat show has been held in Clift Park on the north shore of beautiful Skaneateles Lake, NY. The site is in the center of town, convenient to many shops and restaurants. The show is hosted by the Finger Lakes Chapter and the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
The show affords visitors an exhibit of 44 antique and classic boats in the water and 45-50 land displays with an opportunity to speak to the owners. We encourage owners of fiberglass classics built 1990 and earlier to exhibit their boats. All entries are eligible for judging according to the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) standards.
The weekend promises something for everyone. There is a Ship’s Store with nautical merchandise, the Syracuse Model Boat Club with in water demonstrations, a boat parade on Saturday afternoon, children’s activities, Junior Judging, raffle baskets, historic tours of the town and music throughout the weekend. Sunday morning there is a photo shoot opportunity on the Mid-Lakes Navigation’s tour boat the JUDGE BEN WILES with many exhibitor boats circling the JUDGE at speed. The Boat Show Committee spends a year in planning this event to ensure that exhibitors and visitors have an enjoyable weekend.
