BOANN
In June 2011, Richard Van Voris, the boatman for the Tabor Academy crew in Marion, Massachusetts, launched a 27′ x12″ single scull designed by Graeme King. Richard built the hull from 1/8″ red cedar strips , reinforced with carbon fiber, and covered with epoxy.
Natasha Darling!
I built this cedar strip version of a CLC Annapolis Wherry over an 18 month period & about 1500 hours. Rather than buying the recommended “drop-in” rowing rigs I constructed my own assemblies in both the single & double configurations. The boat is a sweet & composed row!
FRIDA
Mike Yates of Bainbridge Island, Washington designed & built this recreational/open-water shell. Loosely based on Graeme King’s immortal Kingfisher, it is strip-built with 1/8″ Western Red Cedar & Alaskan Yellow Cedar, covered with 2-oz fiberglass.
