Sea Otter was designed for an adult night school class I was teaching in boat building, in which nine boats were built at one time. Actually the principles of construction used in Sea Otter are the same as used in many of our larger designs.

The i550 is a very popular 18 foot stitch and glue design. Simple construction and avid builder blogs and websites add a sense of community and support for the builder.

MANDOLINO is an elegant, classical seaworthy small boat that we propose in two versions, one for day-sailing and one for cruising.

A thoroughly charming boat from the board of a highly respected designer, Eel exudes strength of character.

Construction: Strip, cold-molded, or carvel.

Alternative construction: Lapstrake.

Displacing more than 18,000 lbs, this is a big 29′ boat. She has a set of lines you can fall in love with. Construction: Carvel-planked over laminated frames. Alternative construction: Cold-molded or strip. Lofting is required. Plans include 5 sheets.

Our pre-cut kits are cut by computer-guided routers to provide you with extremely accurate parts. And, the kits come with just about everything needed except the elbow grease. The ladder frame—the “foundation” of the boat—is now included with the kit.

The LINNET is a seaworthy rowing boat that has been specifically designed for sea use. Accordingly it does not have outriggers or a sliding seat while a small daggerboard is fitted to help prevent being blown sideways by the wind. A good load carrier, LINNET can be rowed by 1-3 people.

This design was inspired by Ross Lillistone’s “Water Rat”. The bow transom was replaced by a pointed stem. Also the internal volume and from there the displacement of the boat were increased by about 20%. Changes were made to the seating arrangement as well.
