Pond Boat Sailing at Lake Union Park

For ages 5 to 100! Sail Pirate pond boats at Lake Union Park on Saturdays & Sundays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May – November.

The R-Class Pirate model is a 39″ free-sailing pond boat designed by Seattle yacht designer, Ted Geary. This design was built in Seattle and Los Angeles public schools in the 1920s. Over the last 12 years, CWB has built more than 100 of these model boats in Seattle public schools. The full-size yacht, PIRATE, built in 1926, is on exhibit at The Center for Wooden Boats. CWB will be offering a Pond Boat Livery (rental) at the Lake Union Pond every Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from May-November 2012. Schedule subject to change. $5 suggested donation. Free every first Saturday of the month.
