BLUE HERON

This 12′, sprit-rigged catboat was laid out by Sam Devlin as his MudPeep design. We built her using the stitch and glue method. Sam’s plans were easy to follow (he even changed the larboard/centerboard design for a shallow draft keel, which functions very well in these shallow Texas bays and lakes). The MudPeep is a pleasing, easy-to-build, easy-to-sail little catboat with a beautiful sheer line. Holds two adults very comfortably, and could accommodate two kids and an adult equally easily.
