Gypsy Skiff

George Wolfe and Dan Hamilton built this Gypsy skiff from Dynamite Payson’s book Build the New Instant Boats. He said the plans were very straightforward, and the boat went together easily. He did not expect to spend quite so long sanding to get her mirror finish. They spent 5 years on the construction using 1/4″ marine plywood for her hull, which they covered with epoxy and fiberglass. George used Crabcoat white paint on the finish. George took this picture of his son Dan, and Dan’s children, Aubrey and Kadin. She is powered by a 3-hp outboard.
