SEMI-DORY SKIFF

Frank Fletcher spent two winters taking apart and rebuilding this boat he rescued from a neighbor's shed. He was able to reuse 80% of the original parts. He 'glassed the bottom up to the first strake to help protect it from its future use on his beach. He writes, "She is fun to row and, as with most semi-dories, the more weight in her the better. The vessel is slightly over 12' long, and local information indicates that it was probably built around 1910." He would love to hear from anyone with more information about her. Contact Frank at Good Point Rd., Steuben, ME 04680.
