RETREAD
My friend Will Craig rebuilt RETREAD using Okoume plywood. I bought her in 1988, sailed her for 18 years, then sold her in 2005 to pay for a bicycle tour. Last year, I bought her back and restored her over the winter.

BAY DAWG
Tom Wignall of Lakeville, MN is seen here sailing his new Arch Davis Sand Dollar design BAY DAWG on Pelican Lake in Breezy Point, MN. BAY DAWG, launched in June 2002, is 11'6" with a 42" beam. He constructed her with mahogany planking on oak and cedar frames, covered with System 3 epoxy.
SOLACE
1942 Halvorsen Cruiser. Purchased in Sydney, trucked to Hobart and spent 2.5 years out of the water, undercover rebuilding. Cabin sides and windscreen had been damaged by rot. Double diagonal oregan planking on the hull which when stripped back was in excellent condition.
CROW'S NEST
Tim Allen built this 7' pram from a design by Glen-L Boats of Bellflower, CA. Named CROW'S NEST, he intended her as a sailing pram using leeboards. He found that it only sails downwind and capsizes easily, so Tim bought a 2hp Honda motor to replace the sailing rig.
ST. NICHOLAS
This is a copy of the XVIII century boat. She belonged to the Russian emperor Peter first. The original is now stored in the Naval Museum, in Sank-Petersburg, Russia.
BLUEBELL
Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff.
I added 6″ to the design for a length of 16′.
I also lowered the sheer by 4 inches up forward for more ease in boarding from the beach.
25 H.P. 4-stroke Tohatsu pushes the boat to 26 mph with one person.
QUIET WATERS
Though the design by B. N. Morris called for a 17' canoe, Mitchell Skinner shortened the design to 14' (with 33" beam)and turned it into a solo canoe, QUIET WATERS. He will be using this canoe to fly fish on the lakes of northern Maine.
