Sailing Dinghy
Fifteen years ago, David McNaught of Greensboro, North Carolina, ordered plans for this 12′ sailing dinghy from http://www.bateau.com. He started building the stitch-and-glue boat and worked on it for two months before he had to put it away.
Petrel Play Kayak
Floridian Mark Nye recently built and launched this 14′ long Petrel Play kayak. Mark spent just under 135 hours, spread over five months,on the construction of this stitch-and-glue kit. He stained some of the hull pieces prior to construction of highlight the hull’s puzzle joints.
WHAT'S SUP? and SUPER SUP
Alex Braden, age 7, and his brother Andy, age 9, helped their grandfater, Charlie Brown, build two Chesapeake Light Craft paddleboards. during the winter of 2010 and 2011. Built from kits, the SUPs are 14′ long and just under 30′ wide.

JANI J
Martin Houston designed and built this mini-tugboat, JANI J, that he named for his wife, Janice Jeanette. The two of them built her over five years at their home in South Dakota, epoxying plywood onto fir frames, then covered with fiberglass cloth.
Surfboard
Ed Vickery helped to build and repair boats for quite a while before he built his first wooden surfboard. He built it from several woods including bamboo, black walnut, fir, aframosa, and paulownia; then covered everyting with a layer of 4-oz fiberglass.
