This Adirondack Guideboat built by Gary Stephenson, won a blue ribbon at the Northeast Woodworker's Showcase in Saratoga Springs, New York. Gary, of Ballston Spa, New York, built this 16′ Guideboat using traditional construction methods and materials.
In July 2003, Rob Douwes launched his 17'6" Gentlemen's Runabout KNOCKABOUT on Lake Westeinder, Aalsmeer, in the Netherlands. The plans (#76 from WB), by Hacker and Zimmer, call for a 16' hull, but Rob extended the boat's length by spreading the frames apart just a little bit.
Jim McQuaide and Eric Schade spent August of 2008 building canoes at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine. Eric built the Schoodic 14 design, while Jim built a Schoodic 17.
Jeff Rollins of J. M. Rollins Rowboats in Hudson Falls, NY recently designed and built this Lazy Sunday Rower, 10′4″ long and 4′ wide.

In June 2011, Richard Van Voris, the boatman for the Tabor Academy crew in Marion, Massachusetts, launched a 27′ x12″ single scull designed by Graeme King. Richard built the hull from 1/8″ red cedar strips , reinforced with carbon fiber, and covered with epoxy.
David Blake built MOLLY, a 16′ x 6′ Stevenson Weekender sloop from okoume plywood and mahogany, then covered the hull with fiberglass and epoxy. He made the mast from Sitka spruce and the boom and gaff from Douglas-fir.
Looking for a boat which I might build to incorporate 3 fixed seat rowing stations, I found the Chamberlain Gunning Dory in “Gardner’s Small Boats.” By good fortune I mentioned this to a physician friend only to learn that he had inherited a partially built Gunning Dory from another physician who
