13′ Doug Hylan Beach Pea. Glued lap, okoume ply planking, black locust sheerstrake, stems and keel. Eastern white cedar thwarts and floorboards.
The Black Sheep
This is a 2013 new-build, designed by James-Craft; The Black Sheep is a reproduction Chris-Craft Kit Boat, 1956 Zephyr Runabout. I spent about 600 hours building her over the course of 4 summers — about 10 hours per week June-August. This is my first boat build.
Nutshell Pram
Ray McConnell and John Vinal built this 9′6″ Nutshell Pram and then raffled it last October at the Damariscotta Pumpkin Festival. The proceeds of the raffle when to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dr. Jennifer Lynn McConnell.

My first boat and first build
"If you want something nice, build it yourself." I've wanted a boat most of my life but was never in a position to afford or transport one. But, last summer I decided I couldn't wait any longer and attempted building my first boat.
15 foot lapstrake Canoe
Based on the lines from the freedom 15 canoe design from bear mountain boats. Glued lapstrake marine plywood, fiberglassed inside and out, Epifanes polyurethane finish. Ash trim. Custom paddles and bowline. Very stable and a real head turner at the launch.
PETER THE GREAT
Randall Kleeman led a class of 12 students at the Anglo-American School of Moscow, Russia, in the construction of PETER THE GREAT, an Iain Oughtred Whilly boat design. The boat carries 80 sq ft of sail and weighs about 140 lbs.
