Swaggie
Swaggie is designed for a single or couple wishing to undertake long range cruises in an affordable small cruiser. She has a junk rig which can be reefed from the crew position inside the raised part of the cabin where the inside steering position is so it is possible to most of the voyage warm and dry inside the cabin.Designed to be built from ordinary lumberyard materials, and of a construction type that does not require advanced woodworking skills this is a project that will suit a keen beginner with basic tool skills, the difficult tasks have been addressed by hte designer and simplified, as an example a blue water cruiser will normally require a large lead casting, but in this case the lead ballast is in small "pigs" that are contained within a built up keel. The accommodation in this little voyager is exceptional for her size, she has a double bed, two armchairs and two settee bunks, a bench for the cooker and one for the charts, hopefully of some far distant harbour.
