45' 1929 Motor Yacht by H. C. Hanson

Classic motor yacht designed by H.C. Hanson and built by Mojean and Erickson (Tacoma) for Dr. Christian Brobeck. Launched as "Luella", later "Luani" and most recently named "Second Penny" by the current owners.

Partially completed rebuild includes:
New laminated frames and laminated sister frames throughout.
New planking: Old growth fir below waterline and Alaskan Yellow Cedar above waterline; Covered in tri-axial “Z” cloth and West Systems Epoxy, over painted with 4 coats of “low temp” epoxy paint. Decks and cabin tops reinforced and covered with tri-axial cloth and West Systems Epoxy.
Structural work remaining: Transom and Aft cockpit; Forward Stateroom Bulkhead
Interior: Largely stripped out and refinished, available for installation
Systems: Entirely in need of replacement
Included new electric stove and range and 12/120 volt reefer
Propulsion: Chrysler Crown (2) in need of replacement/rebuild; New stainless propeller shafts; Propellers need replacement; 2 Custom aluminum fuel tanks
Most original hardware, doors and windows included and most restored.

This boat is being sold due to realization that work is not progressing at reasonable speed. Purchaser must provide information regarding yard/location of restoration and/or summation of ability to undertake work. $25,000.
