Having made a 25lb canoe previously, I wanted to play with how light I could go for my next canoe. My research made me think I could get down to around 15 pounds for a 12' canoe so I decided to go for it.

My first boat building Project (not counting a couple of door-skin surfboards) was a Bolger Yellow Leaf pirogue, built from drawings in Bolger’s “Small Boats”.
Boat needs work on planking, frames, deck, coach roof, and mast. Have materials and some hardware. Sails include main, jib, and spinnaker; fair condition. Boat is on sturdy cradle; no trailer; located in southeast Michigan, near Ohio state line. More photos available.
