Washington's Birthday Regatta

The Barnacle Society sponsors an annual regatta for traditional sailboats, commemorating the very first regatta held in 1887 on Biscayne Bay, Florida, on Washington’s Birthday. Our long weekend of sailing–related events will be held February 21-24, 2013. The Barnacle Society is a non-profit support organization for the Barnacle Historic State Park, located in Coconut Grove, Florida. The Barnacle was the home of “Commodore” Ralph Middleton Munroe, who was an early pioneering resident of south Florida and a well-respected boat designer. The sharpie EGRET is probably his best-known design.
