Oar / Paddle

Atlantic 17

The Atlantic 17 is built of plywood, using a batten-seam construction on plywood frames. The frames carry parallel seat risers which allow the thwarts to be infinitely adjusted for various crew weights. Multiple oarlock stations enhance this arrangement. The hull is sheathed in fiberglass, while the frames are epoxy-filleted to the hull for greater strength. The Atlantic 17 is a proven, seaworthy boat, well suited to the novice and experienced oarsman. Construction is straightforward and suited to the moderately experienced (Journeyman) boat builder or woodworker. A blog dedicated to the Atlantic 17 has been established at: www.atlantic17dory.blogspot.com.
