Sharp-End Custom Classic (EGRET)

Beautiful Sharp-End after a design of the classic Sharpie “EGRET.” A particularly versatile ship, ideal for a day on the water, a weekend or even longer, partly due to its large storage spaces. With her flat bottom, variable draft (centreboard + rudder 0.30m-1.50m) and small width, she is ideal for beaching and trailering. She is easy to sail, also solo. A ship with an amazingly beautiful appearance, finish and state of maintenance! The ship is completely built at Rexwinkel Jachtbouw, she has recently been repainted (cockpit + superstructure), she is therefore looking absolutely beautiful. The cockpit is spacious and offers space for about 5 people. A full set of cushions is available for the cockpit to make one large lounger / sun bed. Very nice for an afternoon at anchor or to make extra sleeping places for a weekend away with friends or family! Inside the ship you will find on the port side a galley with sink and cooker, on the starboard side is the navigation corner with refrigerator. Amidships a spacious double bed with seating options on both sides. Are you looking for a versatile sailor? 1957 Ted Carpentier 47' Ketch with 11' Beam 7' Draft. Hull is strip-planked tongue and grooved. Customer built for CEO of United Airlines

This vessel was built by Naval Architect Ted Carpentier who also worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft and was a personal friend of Howard Huges. It was custom built for the CEO of United Airlines (in fact, the original spinnaker is in United Airlines colors). I have owned this boat since 1996. The interior has been refinished, Elco EN7000 motor installed and a new carbon fiber mast and boom and new toilet are ready to be installed. She is really close to being done, just needs someone with time and TLC. She is a fine vessel with no evidence of decay in the hull. The hull was last sounded with a hammer when drydocked and appeared to be tight and sound. It as been docked in the San Francisco bay area for sometime and it still is very dry. It has a teak deck and is Coast Guard Vessel documented. “Sea Wings” really is a great name for this boat. Her design creates a feeling of flying while sailing. Asking price is $95,000. Please feel free to email me to receive more pictures of this historical sailing vessel or with questions.
