CELERITY

John Noon built this 30′6″ Crocker Gull with Joe Taylor at the shop of Gordon (Swifty) Swift in Kensington NH for Carrie Hollingsworth of York ME. Swifty, a legendary boat builder was present for much of the construction but unfortunately passed away in February 2014. The boat is of traditional build, carvel cedar planking over steam bent white oak frames.Throughout the building process, from lofting to launch, Noon mentored owner Hollingsworth on the fundamentals of wooden boat construction. Noon also had help at times from friends Marty White and David Pillsbury. The spars were beautifully crafted by Paul Rollins. Noon can be reached at: noon@fastmail.fm
