EMMELINE

EMMELINE, named after the courageous UK political activist Emmeline Pankhurst, was built by Robert Stumm primarily for his recreational rowing pleasure. The design is a Hylan & Brown “Beach Pea,” modified by extending it to 16 feet 3 inches by proportioning the additional length according to a Fibonacci sequence. The centre thwart was repositioned to allow for a custom-made removable sliding seat to be installed, without comprising the trim when fixed seat rowing. EMMELINE is a joy to row and handles choppy conditions with aplomb.
