"It'll Do"

On Saturday August 12, 2017 at Green Lake in Dedham, Maine I launched, with my daughter Jackie and her husband Ryan Francini my Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff that I named “It’ll Do”. I purchased the plans from WoodenBoat Magazine and began construction in February. I used white cedar and white oak that I purchased from Yoder’s Mill in Corinna, Maine. We use their products in the construction of cedar strip canoes that our students build each year in class at Dexter Regional High School. The seats were finished in Butternut to display the distinct grain of the wood for visual appeal. I purchased a used 1981 Mercury 18 HP outboard for the boat and it cruised my daughter and I across Green Lake at 25 MPH.
