NEREUS

NEREUS was built in 2006 by Harry Bryan Boatbuilding in Canada and designed by John Alden. This 2006 21′ Alden Sloop was sitting on the hard at The Landing School for 10 years after being donated. Recent Landing School graduate (Wooden Boat Building 18′, Marine Systems 19′) , Keith Frederick, and current Landing School Marketing Manager, Juliet Karam, purchased the boat together in March and began restoring her. Nereus needed a lot of work before being launched, including lots of polishing bronze, sanding, painting, putting tar on the seams, oiling teak, oiling teak, replacing rotted canvas on the deck, getting the rigging ready, and more - we happily launched our boat on Friday June 17th.This cedar carvel planed and gaff rigged classic wooden boat provides perfect accommodations for 2 with custom finished interior, cabinetry and plenty of storage. Outfitted with a Yanmar 1GM diesel engine, this boat is built to explore the entire East Coast and the owners couldn't be happier!Follow on Instagram: @sailingthenereus
