NEMAH SHARPY SKIFF
NEMAH features a stable, flat bottomed, sharpie type hull that can handle up to 3 passengers and a small outboard up to 5hp. Sides are ¼” plywood and the bottom is 3/8” plywood. A trussed gunnel rail insures hull stiffness. A free-standing square-sectioned mast and wishbone boom are detailed on the plans and are easily made yourself from locally available clear lumber. A kick-up rudder and dagger-board are also shown in the plans. NEMAH is built using light, strong and simple STITCH-&-GLUE construction ideal for amateurs. Drawings consist of seven 11"x17" CADD drawn sheets, 10 sheets of typed instructions, and a 4 page sheet of scarphing directions, which cover both the scarphing process and the construction of the required fixtures. Nemah is named after a community on Washington’s Willapa Bay where the 3 branches of the Nemah river converge. She made her debut at the Lake Union Wooden Boat Show the Summer she was built. Nemah is one of the designs in the Headwater Boat collection.
NEMAH was featured in the May/June 2025 issue of Wooden Boat Magazine’s “Launchings.”
