CREDIMUS: A documentary on an unlikely path to an unlikely race

WoodenBoat No. 284 (January/February 2022) includes an article about a Colorado high school team that built a 40′ boat, and subsequently paddled it in a grueling contest on Puget Sound. The race, called the Seventy48, is a contest for human-powered boats, so-named because it covers 70 miles in 48 hours. To get to the race in 2019 and 2021, the students hauled their boat across five states after building it 8,000′ above sea level. Filmmaker Roo Smith followed the students and their mentor-teachers on this arduous path, and recorded the experience in a documentary film. You can watch the trailer here and follow the links to view the entire film on Smith’s web site.
