Atlantic Challenge Team Training

-

This is a team training on Greens Island in Penobscot Bay for anyone interested in being oart of the next Atlantic Challenge International Contest of Seamanship in Roskilde, Denmark in July 2026. This is for ages 14 - 20s. No prior experience necessary.

This training is designed for young adults who wish to work as a team on and off the water and learn/hone their rowing, sailing, and traditional seamanship skills in a fun, supportive atmosphere! The boats we use are copies of 18th century French Admiral's gigs, called Bantry Bay gigs. There are 11 Contest Events we will train for including rowing, sailing, navigation, knots, and docking in style.

Every crew member will have many opportunities to lead throughout the program. With guidance from AC USA instructors and our cook, participants will rotate through a range roles each day on and off the water to keep our crew healthy and our boats well tended.
