Brown Bag Gam: Rise and Fall of the Morehead City Shipbuilding Corp.

In the 1950s, during North Carolina’s shrimping boom, the Morehead City Shipbuilding Corp. grew rapidly due to the success of its Hatteras Trawlers. Its rate of growth, however, was unsustainable and eventually collapsed exposing a flawed business model and business practices. Join North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort Curator David Bennett to learn about the “Rise and Fall of the Morehead City Shipbuilding Corp.”

The program is part of our Brown Bag Gam series, informal lectures offered over the lunch hour (noon to 1 p.m.). So bring your lunch and join us for the free program. Registration is not required, and walk-ins are welcome.
