Lecture: The Manasota Key Offshore Site

“The Manasota Key Offshore Site” will be presented by John McCarthy, executive director of Gulf Coast Heritage Association. 

This new discovery is a unique 7,000-year-old archaeological site that is located near Manasota Key in the Gulf of Mexico. Underwater archaeologists from the Florida Department of State, Bureau of Archaeological Research have been working to study and protect the site. Our presenter has been a member of the stakeholder team convened by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and will share what has been learned about this important site and let us know how we can help protect it.

The lecture, wihch will be held outdoors, is slated for Wednesday, November 28th, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
