Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival

-

This festival celebrates the maritime heritage of the North Antrim Coast and in particular that of Rathlin Sound, the body of water between Rathlin Island and Ballycastle on the mainland.

As you’d expect much of the festival activity takes place on the water—there is a sailing regatta and currach racing, a visiting tall ship and an ‘invasion’ by a viking ship. You can get on the water by trying power boating on the sound or kayaking in the harbours in Ballycastle or Rathlin.

On land there are guided walks and tours of the very scenic coastline, while cookery demonstrations and a craft and food market with an emphasis on local produce cater to foodie visitors. There is a varied programme of entertainment ranging from concerts and art exbibitions to loads of family friendly events.
