Swedish Handcraft (Slöjd) & Boats

-

Camp together on Greens Island. Spend part of the day rowing and sailing our Bantry Bay gigs, 18th-century copies of French Admiral's gigs. Spend part of the day learning traditional crafts - slöjd - the Swedish word for creating functional objects for the home by hand. These crafts include making birch bark shaker boxes for salt and other treasures, and canvas bags with fancy ropework. Crafts taught Peter Lamb.
