Each summer, the WoodenBoat School offers several classes in which students can build their own boat. In a week, students often get their hull built, and take it home to finish the interior as time permits. In June 2015, thirteen students built seven Annapolis Wherries from kits created by Chesapeake Light Craft in Annapolis, Maryland.
Whiskey Plank
During the summertime, WoodenBoat’s Brooklin, Maine, campus is a veritable Who’s Who of fine wooden boats. A person could simply sit at the end of the pier for the season and receive an education in the classics by watching the parade of fine yachts and vessels passing through.

The MERRIMAN Bros. Inc. was founded in 1898, and published catalogs of yacht hardware up until the 1960s; it offered for sale most of the well-known bronze fittings that you have seen on the decks and in the rigging of the finest sailboats.
