HANALEI and WAILUA

The two 14-ft. Glen-L “Can-Yaks,” launched on July 30, 2016, at the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, CA. Boats are framed in Honduras mahogany, planked with 6mm Okoume plywood, and everything is sealed up with a single ply of 3.8-oz. glass cloth and epoxy resin. Deck is 1/8″ birch ply, with a layer of 1.45-oz. glass and epoxy, with a coat of urethane clear for UV protection. Base color is PPG “Delfleet” urethane enamel, and the color strip is Rustoleum from a rattle can—cheap and easy to repair.
