SEPHIRA

SEPHIRA is based on a St. Ayles Skiff and was built and turned into a mucial instrument to see if we can learn how to communicate with whales. We launched and raced her at Mystic Seaport, CT. and then took her to the First International St. Ayles Skiff Races in Ullapool Scotland. We are hoping to raise the funds to get EOS built. I have started a nonprofit where we are teaching underserved innnercity youth how to build boats. Our first boat built by middle schoolers in a free summer program was featured in WoodenBoat #274 Launchings. Thhis year, 2020, we had to go virtual so a lot of the same students are building a 1/8 th scale model of a Bevins Skiff.We taught local high school students how to run a CNC and cut two full scale Bevins Skiffs and shipped them to Jamaica. We then went to Jamaica with Central Moravian Church's Mission Project and built the two skiffs. We were supposed to build another one with the middle schoolers but Covid19 changed all of that.I made up little tool kits and laser cut model parts and sent them to each students. We start with Zoom instruction on Monday the 13th of July 2020.Please wish them luck and I will keep you posted.
