After a two year journey, My wife (Nathalie), Two sons (August and Graham) and I have completed building our Eastport Pram. We selected this boat due to its easy car-top transport, versatility and beauty. This is our first foray into wooden boat building, and hopefully not our last.
I was gifted tuition to the WoodenBoat School for my 40th birthday and convinced my best buddy Seth to join me in John Karbott's Intro to Boatbuilding class (you can see this boat being built on the listing for the class).
The build was started in 2009 by Dr. David Likely of Dorn Ridge N.B. After his passing in late 2012, the task of completing the build was taken on by Dale Murray and Ann Fillmore. Work has been ongoing since the fall of 2013.
Just brought home this Penguin class dinghy. Plan is to strip and re-finish as much as I can.
“Rhode Runner” is a stitch and glue wooden craft reminiscent of the 1950’s style runabouts designed by Chesapeake Light Craft. Brian Daniels built the runabout over the winter of 2023/24 and was launched on May 29, 2024 on beautiful Higgins lake, Michigan.
