CLC Sassafras 16

My Chesapeake Light Craft Sassafras 16™ is shown here, in the Delaware Water Gap, on its first launch for an overnight camping trip (technically its maiden voyage was 2 years earlier, but unfortunately no photos were taken). The Sassafras 16 is a lapstrake canoe, built with CLC's LapStitch™ process, and is symmetrical, bow and stern. The hull is slightly rockered - not for maneuvering in whitewater, but rather to reduce wetted surface area - and made of 6mm okoume with glass cloth on the lower strakes, inside and out. It has ash-caned seats, sapele decks, mahogany outwales, and an ash thwart.
