SOAR, launched November 2023. 8′ tender, glued lap construction, butternut thwart, western red cedar floor boards, cast bronze knees.
This A.R. True 14 foot LOA sailing skiff/dory was rescued from decades forgotten in a barn in 2010 and spent the next four years being stripped, refastened, and recaulked. The lower half of the transom was also replaced. Both of the cotton sails and the mast and boom are original.
I built her in Hamina at Etelä-Kymenlaakso Vocational College (Ekami) for scholarly thesis during October 2012- May 2013. The boat was built from a half-model. The half-model was found in 1912 at Sommers.
Michael Lampman built the hull of this 20' MacKenzie Boats rowing scull from Atlantic white cedar wood strips covered with epoxy. The trim is Honduras mahogany. The boat, which he named SOLITAIRE, weighs only 31 pounds. Michael uses his scull on the waters near Tallahassee, Florida.
Duncan Burns writes of his 13' peapod, SWEET PEA, “Built to the Doug Hylan design and launched in February 1998, this peapod has logged better than 2,000 nautical miles in Long Island Sound between City Island, NY and Stamford, CT.
SARAH JEANNE is a 14' Marsh Cat (Joel White design) built by Philippe Voyer and launched in July 2002. He writes that Joel White was really an artist, to design such a strong, beautiful boat.

Bear Mountain Boat Shop of Peterborough Ontario provided the plans for this 16' Chestnut Prospector Canoe built by Brian Maiorano of Missoula, Montana. He named her MAKAI, which is Hawaiian for "toward the ocean".
I have had these Bolger plans for Diablo for 15 yrs. Originally I wanted to build it at the vocational high school where I was principal but that never happened. Then I wanted to build it in Biloxi, Ms while I was working there in 2009-20010.
