My adventure started on May 4th at CLC in Annapolis, MD. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It’s amazing what was completed in a week. 12 weeks later.....The Christening took place on August 3th on the Manasquan River. Loved it!!!
This is my 18′ Carolina dory. Materials are from local lumber yards except for the bronze screws. This was a fun project, the plans from Spira International were easy to read and the boat gets plenty of compliments.
Relaunchings----This is a 10ft 5 inch catboat I built from a kit in 2000 from a boatbuilder that is no longer in business, (Upper Deck Boat shop). I had it in Mystic in 2000 for the WoodenBoat Show.
Steve and Jamie Reed of Greeley, Colorado, built this cute little rocking boat with no metal fasteners, just glue and dowels. They used teak, purple heart, poplar, pine, ash, and oak. Some tiny Reed captain should be overjoyed with their first command.

Scott Tobey writes that he "wanted a boat for exploring the lakes and streams of the Adirondacks so it had to be something silent and electric; something with a shallow draft and very maneuverable, ideally powered by two Minn Kota outboards with dual throttle control and power trim for launching
Aaron Avery built a Ken Swan Nez Perce 13 design 13'6" outboard fishing skiff in his garage. He used marine plywood and vertical grain Douglas fir. The boat is powered by a 1956 10-hp Johnson outboard.
John Paul Burke grew up playing with friends Bob, Tony, and Linnie Streit. Now he has built a boat for the parents of his childhood friends, Rob and Charlie Streit.
This is a 3/4 size Dipper designed by Sam Devlin. Just built for fun as a little show boat. I Enjoy cruising up and down the AuGres River in AuGres, MI. People actually come out of their houses to take video as I cruise by.
Dale Edward Smith owns this lovely Penobscot 14, designed by Arch Davis, and built at the Andaman Boatyard in Thailand. The boat is gaff-rigged and weighs about 170 pounds. Dale uses TIDAK APA-APA at his home in Singapore.
