Hugh Groth has built seven canoes but this is the first strip-built one, and the first one he designed himself. He designed it specifically for he and his wife to use together, moving the stern seat forward to improve balance.

Chris Ireland built this 16′ Amberjack Dory from Iain Oughtred’s plans. The construction is glued lapstrake using Okoume marine plywood and West System epoxy. Stem and frames were laminated Douglas fir, ash breasthooks and gunwales, and white pine transom, thwarts and floorboards.

In 2003, Walter and Debbie Schwarz fell in love with a 1965 Chris-Craft Constellation in serious need of help. They rebuilt every part of her and updated her amenities to now include a master stateroom, modern electronics and bow thrusters, and a completely redone interior.

LI’L BOAT was launched September 3, 2013 in Egg Harbor, WI. Hull was stripped planked using Atlantic White Cedar and sheathed in fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Transom, seats, and trim are Mahogany. Flooring is Cumaru and spars are Douglas Fir.

The klinker-built faering (four oars) has been used for transportation for centuries along the Norwegian coast line and in the fjords. In the areas close to the Sognefjord the features of the faering is particularly well preserved compared to the vessels of the Vikings.

Niam Rogers built this Chesapeake Light Craft kit with help from his grandfather, Dave Racicot. Niam created the patterns using strips of Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Walnut. Niam will use the boat on protected waters in and around Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

I built this PT 11 nesting dinghy from the CLC kit over this past winter, to replace a 9'6" Nutshell pram I built a few years ago not from the kit (the kit is better...) It is a fabulous dinghy-rows like a dream, sails well and nests and unnests in minutes-much credit to Russell Brown and PT Wate

Hope is a semi-dory built according to plans supplied by John Karbott. She will be rowed and powered by a 5hp outboard on the Westport and Sakonnet rivers. This is my first boat. It took six months to complete, and was a perfect complement to my work as a psychologist!
