Michel Côté spent three months building this 7′7″ Nutshell pram designed by Joel White. He launched in on Clapham Lake in Québec Province, Canada, in July 2012.
I built this slightly stretched version (9 1/2 to 11 ft) of Paul Butler’s Montana Pram for my son, his wife and 2 daughters (2 and 7) exploring for ducks, frogs, and adventure on a small pond adjoining their back yard. We launched it on my granddaughter’s 7th birthday in July 2024.
This is my 18′ Carolina dory. Materials are from local lumber yards except for the bronze screws. This was a fun project, the plans from Spira International were easy to read and the boat gets plenty of compliments.
Evan Taylor of Fonthill, Ontario built this Joel White-designed Shellback dinghy in 2001. He used okoume plywood planking with white oak trim. The seats are pine. His wife sewed the sail from a Sailrite kit. Evan sails her on Lake Erie.
Elizabeth Shay of Pocatello, Idaho, is very lucky to have Paul Shay as her grandfather. Paul built Elizabeth a canoe of her very own, a 10′ Nymph designed by Nick Schade.
This 12 foot Wood Duck from Chesapeake Light Craft is a stich and glue design Kayak made from Okoume and Sapele marine plywood. My wife and I started in January 2014 and finished in July 2014.
The launch of “Badger” was attended by family and friends at Clark Center Park in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
This is a PT Watercraft PT 11 I built from their fantastic kit. I completed it in Fall ’21. It is painted inside and out with Perfection two-part urethane to protect it from the Florida sun and keep it cool. I left a small stripe of clear around the interior to show what it is really made of.
Rob Wybierala enjoyed building this San Juan Dory so much; he stopped going to work so he could finish it. Now he owns a small boatbuilding company in Maryland. GRIFF'S LANDING is built of plywood with sawn frames.
