Originally launched June 25, 2005, this Cosine Wherry needed a refresh. The sliding seat was removed and a more traditional interior was installed this summer. Two cedar strip buoyancy tanks were added, along with many coats of varnish and new oars from Barkley Sound Oar & Paddle.
Boatbuilder Douglas Brooks led eighteen students at the University of Illinois in building a 21-foot Shinano River boat, a traditional design from Niigata, Japan.
Kees Bugel first built an 18' cedar pulling boat designed by Ken Bassett. From there, he moved to this more complex Lala design by Joel White. The boat is cold-molded and includes a small Volvo auxiliary engine.
After an extensive restoration by the Lewis family in Florida, the steamboat tender BARBASHELA returned to the Gulf Coast waters October 17, 2016. She was designed in the late 1870s by Captain T. P. Leathers of the steamboat NATCHEZ, and gifted to MS.
Michael Henderson of Gloucester, Ontario built SHUSHUGAH from a Sea Wolf Kit designed by Ray Folland Kayaks. She is built of plywood and epoxy using the stitch-and-glue method. He launched her at Go Home Bay on July 4, 2002.
The Ruudi V is a Savo 575 , a Finnish racing rowboat designed by Ruud Van Veelen. It's a very fast single with a sliding seat, non-feathering oars, and very light weight .

13 year old Hannah Dumser of Davidson, North Carolina and her dad Jim finished and launched their Jericho Bay Skiff (WB No. 210, 211) named Juniper. Built out of Atlantic White Cedar and trimmed in Okoume.
