The Ruback family races its two Nutshell Prams on Seal Bay in Vinalhaven, Maine, a dream that came true after parents Richard and Elaine built them over the winter and launched them in August, 2001.

SWEET PEA

Paul Rowe

Paul Rowe built SWEET PEA from Chris Kulczyki's Sassafras 16 design in his book The Canoe Shop. SWEET PEA is 15'5" long with 36" beam. Paul launched her on Dec 2, 2001 in Stuart, Florida. The hull is glue-and-stitch construction using 6mm Brunzel plywood. The canoe weighs 62 pounds.

Found this on Vintage Boats and set about building it light and cheap. Total build boat about $300 nz ply and glass cloth with polyester. Ply was not treated and with a heavy scoring got a good bond.Could not believe how well it goes with me at 84 kg with a 5 hp OB.

Kisen, an International 5.5m Class yacht was relaunched for her 60th anniversary in May 2014 after having undergone a 4 year long thorough renovation by the owners during 2008 - 2012 and surviving a near-catastrophic yard fire that destroyed all her sails and equipment in 2013.

Walter Hansen completed this glued lapstrake tender in April 2011, just in time for the Keels and Wheels Concours d’Elegance in Seabrook, Texas, at which he received a Corinthian Award.

GINA B is a Joel White Haven 12-1/2 built by Paul Bunch of Raleigh, NC. He estimates it took him 1,800 hours of work spread out over 3-+ years, with occasional help from his wife and two daughters.

Martin Walker teaches boat building at Maryville High School in Maryville, TN. During the 2002-2003 school year the school completed 4 boats - a 16' cedar strip Micmac canoe, a 15' Micmac made of redwood, 12'10" Pooduck skiff, and a 8' flat-bottom rowboat.

A new tender for the Oceanic Hotel on Star Island

Daisy Skiff

Students of WoodenBoat School, Jack Farrell

Jack Farrell launched this Daisy skiff at Star Island, Isles of Shoals in New Hampshire, last summer. Students at the WoodenBoat School built the boat about ten years ago. One class member won the boat raffle and took it home to his home in New Jersey, where he planned to finish it off.
