In June of 2020 Martin Herbert and David Seager launched KIKI and SLICK, two International One-Metre radio controlled sailboats. These slender yachts, 162mm wide, were designed and built by Martin.

In June of 2020 Martin Herbert and David Seager launched KIKI and SLICK, two International One-Metre radio controlled sailboats. These slender yachts, 162mm wide, were designed and built by Martin.
Lightweight (35 lbs.), easily portaged, solo canoe. Cedar strip/epoxy kit from Newfound Woodworks in Bristol, NH. Perfect for flyfishing with a fairly wide beam and relatively flat bottom. Tracks well with a keel and very little above water exposure to be blown around by the wind.
EMMY is a 1936 wooden Cape Cod Baby Knockabout (#51) built at Cape Cod Shipbuilding in Wareham, MA. EMMY is 18 feet long and has a beam of 5'10". She had been stored at Hall's Boatyard at Lake George, NY for 25 years, before being rescued by Joe O'Neill and his wife.
I had a great time learning and building this 17′ Tillamook Pacific Power Dory. I chose this boat to do some fishing and take my kids out on the water here in Florida and the boat can handle it all.
Doug Burns built this Shearwater 17 from a Chesapeake Light Craft kit. The honey colored hull is Okoume plywood, the dark red deck Sapele. She has an LOA of 17′ and a beam of 22″. Designed by Eric Shade, she weighs about 45lbs.

Elizabeth Shay of Pocatello, Idaho, is very lucky to have Paul Shay as her grandfather. Paul built Elizabeth a canoe of her very own, a 10′ Nymph designed by Nick Schade.
Early September saw the launching of cedar strip planked Stand-Up-Paddleboard, designed and built by Andrew J. Malcomb of Dwarka Boatworks in Central Mass.
Each year the Door County Maritime Museum, www.dcmm.org, hosts a class in wooden boat building. This year’s volunteer class instructors, David Morgan, Bob Schottmuller and Jerry McNamara, chose Newfound Woodworks’ Whitehall pulling boat.
