The CS23 is an offshore boat based on the Carolina Sport Fishing boats lines.

A thoroughly charming boat from the board of a highly respected designer, Eel exudes strength of character.

Construction: Strip, cold-molded, or carvel.

Alternative construction: Lapstrake.

Lofting required.

Miniature voyaging and cruising yacht for amateur boatbuilders, can carry two, capable of short blue water voyages.

Auxiliary cruising sloop evolving from the Hudson River and Friendship sloops.

Excellent for single handling with 450 sq. ft. of working sails, open decks and large cockpit.

Simon found an older version of this boat back in the eighties and realized that its thousand-year-old design could be copied and preserved without too much difficulty. He measured it out in ’89 and Bill Nielsen lofted it and drew up the plans in ’91.

JUNIOR, designed to compete in Diecipiedi (10 Foot) Class (www.diecipiedi.it), is norrower and therefore less stable than other boats but it is one of the fastest monohulls of the class.
