The baby of our pocket cruiser range, Design 077 is a remarkably robust and sea-kindly small cruising sail boat. Available as a gaff yawl or gunter rig cutter.She is very straightforward to build on five ring frames and a backbone, laminated up over the frames.

MASH is a design I created for Woodenboat Magazine’s Sketchbook article, issue 275, July/August 2020. She is a 24ft power cruiser with a cuddy cabin designed in the lobsterboat style.

Developed in response to requests from heavier and wider paddlers who also wanted a shorter boat, this stable load carrier is excellent for the novice kayaker.

The Unicat 2.4 is all about practicality and safety. Packing a 230kg load capacity, the Unicat is suitable for 3 adults, and the inverted vee hull is much more stable than conventional dinghies. The high freeboard also ensures a dry ride in most conditions.

Derived from traditional Norwegian small craft, this handsome double-ender performs as well as a daysailer and beach cruiser.

Clean, frameless, glued-lapstrake plywood hull means, easy construction, happy trailering, and low maintenance.

VILA 570 is the smallest of a family of three small planing cruisers boats ranging from 19’ to 22’.

The Chesapeake touring kayaks are icons in the sea kayaking world. Built in the thousands in dozens of countries around the world, the Chesapeakes are solid-tracking, comfortable kayaks.

Designed as a cat schooner; both sails have big round poles at their leading edges. Considering the performance potential of this hull, this rig is appropriate. The stayless rig is clean and will be cheap to build with solid fir poles.

Being a big fan of the Irish Pucan and I’m hoping to make building in wood both simpler and more straightforward. An encouragement for builders to have a go at building their own boat.
