1947 Quincy Adams 17 -Price reduction to $9,000. Make offer.

Mahogany planked on oiled oak frames. Spruce spars and stainless rigging. Egyptian cotton main and jib. A fin keel fractional sloop. LOA 26.5 LWL 17.25 Beam 6 ft. 4.5 ft max. draft. Designed by Fred W. Goeller and built by the Quincy Adams Yacht Yard this design was chosen by the Fishers Island Yacht Club as their first postwar class and gets a mention in John Rousmaniere’s “Sailing at Fishers: a History of the FIshers Island Yacht Club”. Of the 30 original hulls only 3 are thought to have survived. Their part in history is documented at the New York Yacht Club with a half model in the trophy room. Last soaking was 2020 but has for the last 25 years spent Upstate, NY winters in a boat shed with a gravel floor. Comes with a custom built Triad trailer circa 1999 which will need going over for long distance hauling. A 2017 survey is available as is an earlier 1999 survey. Have lines and sail plans but no table of offsets. Happy to discuss provenance and details along with additional photos, video, etc.
