Silk Purse - An Historically-Inspired Trailerable Gaff Pocket Cruiser

Awarded “Best Owner Restored Sailboat” at Mystic Wooden Boat Show 2024. Owned for 47 years and trailer-sailed from the Chesapeake to Canada.

Restored from a 1955 A. R. True hull (cedar over oak, bronze fastened) and reconstructed with features from circa 1903 mid-Atlantic boats into a trailerable cutter-rigged gaff sloop. Has carried two adults and two children for up to a week.
