CADENZA

Cadenza was built in 2003 at Rockport Marine by shipwright John England from a design by L. Frances Herreshoff. The design was modified slightly by Doug Hylan to move the mizzen aft in order to make the steering more comfortable, effectively turning the original ketch sail plan into a yawl.

Cadenza is built traditionally with mahogany and cedar planking on oak frames. While the original Rozinante design was set up for rowing as auxiliary power, Cadenza has an 8 HP Yammer diesel.

Aboard WESTER TILL

WESTER TILL, a 47′ yawl designed by Henry Rasmussen and built by Abeking & Rasmussen, was launched in 1947 when the A&R yard was struggling to recover from World War II. She was nearly destroyed on a transatlantic delivery in the early 1980s, but she was subsequently rebuilt to very high standards.
