Beetlecat Hull # 43. Originally constructed in 1946. Reframed and replaced transom, keel, and centerboard box. Parts of deck and hull needed to be replaced. Work resembled an archeological dig. In places there were iron fasteners, bronze fasteners and stainless steel screws.
Kevin Brown needed a shallow-draft, v-bottomed boat for fishing the marshy coast of Georgia, so he designed and build LIL WOODY. At 15 feet long, LIL WOODY is powered by a 55-hp outboard, and can run up to 28mph.
Kevin and Pat Clair of Carrollton, Texas launched WATERMELON in March 2001. At just under 8' long, this kayak is a tight fit for paddler. She is a "V8" design from Versatile Marine of Carrollton Texas. The hull is made from 3 mm okoume plywood, and the deck from 1.5mm okoume.
Jim Hammond replaced seven frames on this 16 x56" motorboat, repaired the lower transom, refinished the motor (1958 Big Twin Evinrude) and installed a new windshield. Then he gave it a few (9) coats of varnish. Johnson Boatworks of St. Williams, Ontario, built the boat in 1957.
In July 2003, Rob Douwes launched his 17'6" Gentlemen's Runabout KNOCKABOUT on Lake Westeinder, Aalsmeer, in the Netherlands. The plans (#76 from WB), by Hacker and Zimmer, call for a 16' hull, but Rob extended the boat's length by spreading the frames apart just a little bit.

Higher Freeboard, Self Draining Cockpit Deck and Sail furling added to Gary Deirkings design.
An Echo Bay Dory Skiff built with a sprit sail rig built from a kit by Chase Small Craft. The boat was 8 years in the making (I have other hobbies too).

During the winter of 2002-2003, Bruce Porter built this 13'9" x 58" flat-bottomed dory with help from Madison East High School Woodworking Students and staff. Launched in May 2003, SHARK will be used on Madison Wisconsin area lakes and rivers.
